Under the direction and guidance of Dr. Made Kurnia Widiastuti Giri, S.Ked., M.Kes, Edy Sukarma’s team created an innovation in the field of Medical Things entitled “Smart Serum Glucose Monitor based on IoMT as A Health Monitor for Diabetes Mellitus Patients”. The Smart Serum Glucose Monitor is a system designed by combining an IoMT (Internet of Medical Things) based glucometer (blood sugar checker) device which is added with a chip with a telemedicine application so that it can remotely detect blood sugar levels and the health condition of comorbid diabetes mellitus patients. periodically. There are several features contained in the Smart Serum Glucose Monitor system to support the practicality and superiority of this tool, namely the auto-notification feature to interact with health workers, the reminder feature to remind patients to regularly check their blood sugar, the fingerprint feature to maintain the security of patient data, the statistics to determine the development of the patient’s blood sugar, and finally the emergency support feature based on location which functions to contact the nearest health facility if the patient’s condition is in an emergency. The hope of Edy Sukarma as team leader is that this innovation can be useful for the community in monitoring blood sugar and the health of diabetes mellitus patients so that better quality health can be achieved in the future.
Furthermore, the bronze medal was won by the team led by Ketut Wahyu Megananda Kesuma Putra and 3 colleagues, namely Putu Krisna Satya Jayadi, Kadek Dwi Cakradiningrat, and I Made Ramantika Suryantara. This team conducted a study entitled “The Potency of Vandruff (Vanishing Dandruff) Pomade in Preventing and Treating Seborrheic Dermatitis due to Malassezia sp.” The work displayed is in the form of pomade or hair styling products which also aim to cure seborrheic dermatitis which often occurs on the scalp caused by Malassezia, especially in people who live in tropical areas. The background to making this work was based on the problem of the Wahyu group who had experienced a similar disease so they looked for a solution to treat it by making a pomade product made from aloe vera, tea tree oil, and lemongrass essential oil. The team hopes that more achievements will be made by Undiksha students in the future so that they can make their address proud on the national and international stage.(Red_FK)
