Singaraja βIt doesn’t feel like we’ve been experiencing a pandemic for more than a year. Overburdened health facilities, disrupted food supply chains, and lost income due to COVID-19 could lead to a sharp increase in the number of babies and toddlers experiencing nutritional problems and mothers with high-risk pregnancies in Indonesia. This situation should not last long because Indonesian toddlers are potential successors who are highly expected in the future as heirs to the nation and state in all strategic fields in facing the era of globalization.
In this regard, the Undiksha Midwifery Department Student Association also empathizes in promoting health at Integrated Service Posts (Posyandu) in adapting new habits as a form of preventing stunting, improving the health of mothers and children through counseling, disseminating health information, and community-based health surveillance. Therefore, on Saturday, November 12, 2022, the Share And Care activity was carried out by Undiksha Midwifery Department Students at the Banjar Bergong Hall, Poh Bergong Village with 35 participants.
This activity is not only beneficial for the participants, which are targeted at pregnant women, babies, and toddlers in the local community but also has a positive impact on the organizing committee. “We were able to learn directly about posyandu activities and apply midwifery services to the community,” said Nita, the person in charge of Share And Care activities. He also hopes that this activity can run sustainably so that it can have a meaningful impact on Poh Bergong Village in line with the Assisted Village program designed by HMJ Midwifery Undiksha 2022/2023 in the village.
