Singaraja – Who doesn’t know this new Undiksha faculty, who else does?” not purple” Undiksha Faculty of Medicine. This faculty, which was only established in 2018, is the last faculty at Ganesha University of Education. Having 3 classes (this year there are 4 classes), FK continuously shows its ability to compete in every competition event, both at national and international levels.
Another international-level achievement was achieved by students from the Faculty of Medicine, Ganesha Education University (Undiksha). This time it comes from the 2021 International Intellectual Property, Invention, Innovation, and Technology Exposition (IPITEx) event in Bangkok. At the announcement which took place on May 3, 2021, the FK Undiksha Team succeeded in winning a gold medal.
The FK Undiksha team is guided by Dr. Ni Nyoman Mestri Agustini, S.Ked., M.Kes., M.Biomed., Sp. N consists of 4 students including I Wayan Mahaksa Kumaratungga, Putu Gede Semara Putra, Putu Wina Maharani, and Cantika Oktariza Dewi.
The competition was held online and was held from 30 April – 3 May 2021. Winning a gold medal of course required extra hard work by the FK Undiksha Team. At this event, the Faculty of Medicine presented the invention “BRIANA: Advanced Detection and Image Enhancement For Breast Cancer Using Deep Learning”. This invention uses artificial intelligence or AI methods to detect the presence of breast cancer cells in connective tissue after biopsy or what is often called breast cancer histopathology. This invention helps medical teams search for cancer cells in connective tissue using AI as a “partner” for clinical pathologists.
