Singaraja-According to the schedule that has been designed, vaccination is expected to be completed in June 2021 for lecturers and staff. However, this still needs to be coordinated with the Health Service regarding vaccine availability. Apart from that, we are also waiting for regulations from the government, including those related to student vaccination.
Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) has received another COVID-19 vaccine allocation. This second wave of allocation is intended for one hundred people consisting of management, lecturers, and staff. Vaccination was carried out at the Undiksha Auditorium, on Wednesday (7/4/2021).
The vaccination participants consisted of 26 people aged over 60 years who had previously received their first vaccination. These recipients consist of leaders and lecturers. Meanwhile, the others are lecturers and staff who have never received the vaccine.
Head of the Undiksha Vaccination Team, Dr. Ni Luh Kadek Alit Arsani, S.Ked., M.Biomed., explained that in implementing this vaccination, Undiksha has formed a team coordinated with the Buleleng District Health Service to help achieve immunization targets in Indonesia. This is also in accordance with the assignment given by the Director General of Higher Education, Ministry of Education and Culture, to medical faculties in Indonesia to assist and play an active role in implementing vaccinations. The medical personnel involved in this vaccination came from the Faculty of Medicine, Undiksha, consisting of 17 doctors and health personnel from midwives and nurses who have the status of lecturers in the midwifery study program. Apart from that, there are also health workers on duty at the Undiksha clinic.
Undiksha Chancellor, Prof. Dr. I Nyoman Jampel, M.Pd was one of the recipients of the second vaccine. He admitted that he had no symptoms. On this occasion, thanks were expressed to the Regional Secretary of Bali Province, the Regional Secretary of Buleleng Regency, and the Health Service for providing support for Undiksha residents to be able to vaccinate more quickly.
He further conveyed that the acceleration of vaccination was a form of support for the direction of the Minister of Education and Culture who hopes that universities can conduct face-to-face lectures, even with strict procedures in August-September or in the new academic year 2021/2022. “So regarding that, we have conveyed to the Bali Covid-19 Task Force that all Undiksha components, including lecturers, staff, and students, in July, finally we hope that everyone will have been vaccinated,” he said. Based on the data, the number of Undiksha lecturers and employees who have received the vaccine has reached 300 people. About 500 people are still on the waiting list. It is hoped that this number can be reached immediately and can be completed in the third wave. (gsd)
