Singaraja –IDI (Indonesian Doctors Association) was founded around 62 years ago, precisely on October 24, 1950. IDI is the only professional organization for doctors throughout Indonesia as stated in the Medical Practice Law No. 29 of 2004.

This medical organization originally started from an association called Vereniging van Indische Artsen in 1911, whose leader was Dr. J.A.Kayadu who served as chairman of this association. The association later changed to: the Association of Indonesian Physicians abbreviated as VIG. Names like Dr. Wahidin, dr, Soetomo, and dr Tjipto Mangunkusumo are involved in the social and political fields here.

IDI aims to combine all the potential of doctors from all over Indonesia, maintain and increase the dignity and honor of the medical profession, develop medical science and technology, and improve the health of the Indonesian people towards a healthy and prosperous society.

In celebration of IDI’s 72nd anniversary, a chess tournament was held between IDI members from the Bali Region. Tournament participants are representatives of IDI branches throughout Bali. The IDI Buleleng Branch was represented by Dr. Dr. Komang Hendra Setiawan, S.Ked, M.Kes, and dr. Dewa Putu Subagia. This tournament is coordinated by IDI Cab. Tabanan. and held at Anaya Resto Tabanan. The 72nd IDI Anniversary activities will be held on October 9, 2022.

The individual category chess tournament with a points system is facilitated by Percasi Bali. The final result was 1st place achieved by Dr. Catur (IDI Cab. Bangli.), 2nd place was won by Dr. Komang Hendra Setiawan, S.Ked, M.Kes (IDI Cab. Buleleng), and 3rd place was won by Dr. Indra (IDI Cab. Tabanan).

By holding this chess tournament, it is hoped that the family spirit among IDI members will increase and increase the socialization of the sport of chess in society. (TFK)
