Singaraja – Wednesday 23 February 2022, FK Undiksha held the “Handover of Coas Students at Buleleng Regional Hospital” activity. As reported from the Undiksha websiteundiksha.ac.id, dozens of young doctors took part in clinical clerkships at the Main Teaching Hospital of the Faculty of Medicine, Undiksha, namely the Buleleng Regional General Hospital (RSUD). The handover took place in the hospital classroom.
At this event, the Chancellor of Undiksha was represented by the Deputy Chancellor for Planning, Administration, Finance, and Human Resources, Prof. Dr. I Wayan Lasmawan, M.Pd. A total of 44 young doctors who had earned bachelor’s degrees in medicine at FK Undiksha were handed over and received by the Director of Buleleng Regional Hospital, Dr. Putu Arya Nugraha, Sp. PD. This event was also witnessed by the leadership of FK Undiksha, lecturers, and hospital staff.
Deputy Chancellor I Wayan Lasmawan said that this clinical clerkship is a stage in professional education for doctors or the coast. He hopes that in the future professional doctor candidates will be born. It was emphasized that this professionalism depends on the quality of the process that is carried out.
As emphasized by the Chancellor of Undiksha, these young doctors are expected to be able to use the opportunity and time in the hospital to educate themselves and practice their professional skills. The most important thing is that everyone obeys and complies with the regulations that apply at the hospital. “Because that is one of the keys to someone being able to become a professional in the future,” he stressed.
Meanwhile, Arya Nugraha said that the presence of this young doctor to undergo medical professional education could strengthen the legacy that Buleleng Regional Hospital is recognized as a major teaching hospital. “Previously, we have been a satellite teaching hospital of FK Udayana for a long time. But we have already entered the status of a major teaching hospital. “This means that this is a proud moment for us for the Buleleng Regional Hospital community,” he said.
The director from Kayuputih Village, Banjar District, Buleleng also gave a message to prospective doctors. It was stated that the medical profession was still very honorable. Therefore, we must not stop at a proud profile, but can fundamentally be a public servant. “So pride is not due to external appearances, but in essence, we are good public servants,” he stressed.
One of the young doctors, A. A. Ayu Lie Lhiannza Mahendra Putri, admitted that she was very enthusiastic about taking part in medical professional education because she could finally practice the material she had learned in academic education. “Finally we were able to implement it directly, but still under the guidance of our consultants, then with the help of nurses, midwives, and all components of the hospital,” he said.
This handover event was very historic for FK Undiksha and was something to be proud of for the progress of medical education in Undiksha. The reason is, that this is the first time that Undiksha has sent young doctors to the hospital to be able to take part in clinical clerkship education. (hms)
