Singaraja –The Ministry of Education and Culture opens opportunities for midwife educational institutions to increase the level of education they provide from D3 or D4 to a profession that meets level 7 of the Indonesian National Qualifications Framework (KKNI) with the issuance of Letter Number 2037/C.C4/KL/2016 concerning the Announcement of Proposing a Midwife Professional Study Program in the 2016 Applied Science Cluster in the Health Sector and all its consequences according to applicable regulations.
In line with this policy, the Ganesha University of Education proposed opening a Midwife Professional Education Study Program through SILEMKERMA under the management of the Faculty of Medicine. Undiksha’s Undergraduate and Professional Midwife Education Study Program is the only midwifery study program that carries the Tri Hita Karana concept by the Study Program’s Vision, namely “To Become an Excellent Study Program in the Field of Community Midwifery in Tourism Areas Based on the Tri Hita Karana Philosophy in Asia in 2045”. Tri Hita Karana, namely the concept of three causes for the creation of happiness where the relationship includes the relationship with God (Prahyangan), the relationship with fellow humans (Pawongan), and the relationship with the natural surroundings (Pabelasan). To achieve this excellence, several characteristic courses were prepared including Tri Hita Karana courses, Usadha Bali, Ayurveda in Midwifery, Infectious Diseases in Midwifery, Tourism Health, Health Promotion, and Community Midwifery Services.
Based on the results of the announcement in Silemkerma, the application for Midwife Professional Education at FK Undiksha has been approved and a field visitation has been carried out on July 15, 2022, attended by: Dr. Yanti., M.Keb (IBI), Sinar Pertiwi, S.ST., M.Hlth & IntDev (Poltekes Kemenkes Tasikmalaya), Sefryan Daru (Institutional Directorate) Eko Budi Prasetyo (Institutional Directorate), Osvaldo Sativa Amastha (Institutional Directorate), Abdul Rosid (Institutional Directorate) and representatives from the Head of the LLDIKTI Region VIII Institution. This visit was attended by the Chancellor, Deputy Chancellors 1, 2, and 3, Dean, Deputy Deans 1, 2, and 3, Coordinator of Study Programs, and Heads of Sections/Units at both university and faculty levels in the Undiksha environment.
The visitation started at 09.00 WITA in the Rectorate building, 3rd floor, Ganesha 3 room with an opening ceremony, followed by remarks from the Chancellor of Undiksha, Prof. Dr. I Nyoman Jampel, M.Pd, welcoming remarks from the Head of the LLDIKTI Region VIII Institution, and the Institutional Directorate of the Ministry of Education and Culture, ended with a prayer to start this field visitation. The main event of the field visit started with an explanation of the purpose and objectives of the visit by the head of the Ministry of Education and Culture’s Evaluator Team, Dr. Yanti., M.Keb, After that, the candidate for Coordinating Study Program for Midwife Professional Education, Mrs. Putu Irma Pratiwi, S.ST., M.Keb, made a presentation and then carried out file checks and interviews with lecturers and CI (Clinical Instructure). Apart from that, the visitor team also carried out physical inspections of facilities and infrastructure.
The final stage of the visitation is the delivery of the results of the visitation and these results will be submitted to LAMPTKes to be heard in the assembly session. The final results are submitted to the Ministry of Education and Culture for the results of the proposal to open the Undergraduate and Professional Midwife Education Study Program.
