Singaraja – Who doesn’t know the last faculty that was founded in 2018, yes… FK Undiksha. FK Undiksha, which is currently a favorite faculty, can make achievements both at national and international levels.
This time, FK Undiksha students took part in an international competition at Mahsa University, Selangor, Malaysia. This prestigious event is called “5th World Invention Competition and Exhibition (WICE) 2023” which will be held from 22 – 26 September 2023. Participated by 484 teams from 20 countries, the FK Undiksha team consists of 4 people (Medical Study Program) including I Putu Duta Mahardhika, Komang Maresta Rustikayanthi, I Made Adi Purnama and Ni Putu Putri Anggita Sari managed to win the “Gold Medal”.
Displays a tool named ASTEC (Automatic Stunting Checker) which is based on the problem of stunting which has now become a global issue and is no longer a national issue. They added that one of the weaknesses of treating stunting in Indonesia is that the examination time is relatively long, ranging from 1-2 minutes, and additional time is needed to calculate and record the results for each patient. However, through a tool called ASTEC (Automatic Stunting Checker), This only takes 15 seconds for each patient and the examination results will appear automatically on a website specially created by the ASTEC team. Using this tool is very easy. First, the patient needs to remove footwear, and accessories, and remove the contents of the bag which can change the patient’s weight. Next, the patient will place his feet on the footing marks that have been prepared on the device. Then the patient only needs to stand straight facing forward for 15 seconds and the patient’s examination results will appear on the website created by the ASTEC team and on the tool’s LCD layer. ASTEC has a design knockdown which makes this tool easy to disassemble/assemble and carry anywhere at any time. This tool can take measurements for all ages, from babies, toddlers, children, teenagers to adults.
The process of working on tools and software took almost 3 months. The process of making this tool certainly goes through a process of trial and error until finally this tool officially carried out its first public test at the Narayan Seva Orphanage on September 20, 2023. Armed with the experience they had during their organization, the ASTEC team was finally able to melt the hearts of the judges in their presentation and succeeded in winning a gold medal in this competition.(Red_FK)
