Singaraja – Who doesn’t know FK Undiksha today? Undiksha’s last faculty, which was founded in 2018 (7 September 2018), continues to make a number of achievements in the academic field. The faculty which has the slogan “FK SIP…. Smart Innovative Professional” this time brought home a gold medal on the international stage.

From 4 August to 6 August 2022, a team of representatives from the Faculty of Medicine, Ganesha Education University consisting of Kadek Adhi Wirayudha, Ida Bagus Komang Brahma Paralaga, Putu Vallari Vida Gunawan, Putu Onik Selvyani, and Pande Ketut Raditya Adi Kusuma took part in a research competition. , that isWorld Invention Creativity Olympic which is located in South Korea. This activity was attended by 25 countries, with 3 teams representing Indonesia (1 team representing Ganesha Education University).

At this event, the FK Undiksha team presented the research results entitled“MangChi Straw: Edible Straw From Mango Seeds Starch (Mangifera indica) and Chitosan”. This research aims to substitute plastic pipettes because as is known, the use of plastic pipettes is one of the largest contributors to plastic waste in the world, especially in Indonesia, so that through this Mangchi Straw can be consumed and can dissolve quickly in water and soil, resulting in environmental pollution problems resulting from plastic waste can be resolved.

Through this research, the FK Undiksha team succeeded in achieving the “Gold Award” and“Special Award” awarded by the Malaysian Research Association.

The hope is that through this achievement, the research we have developed can immediately be implemented on a larger scale and can inspire every student, especially at the Ganesha University of Education, to actively contribute to solving problems through research. (TFK)
