Singaraja – GRAHA (Growing Relationship for Advancing Humanitarian Aid) is community service in assisted villages developed by the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha in Tigawasa village, Buleleng Regency, Bali. This year, supervised by the Community Service Division of BEM, Faculty of Medicine, Undiksha, Tigawasa Village was chosen as the target village with the theme “Grha Vajra Seva” which means a place of service that shines like a diamond. This activity was carried out to overcome nutritional problems in Tigawasa Village which included counseling, free treatment, follow-up, recording, and reporting activities.
GRAHA activities began with Follow-up activities which were held on October 22 2023 from 07.30 to 11.20 WITA in the Tigawasa Village foster families. This follow-up activity is carried out by taking anamnesis from the foster family, then carrying out a nutritional examination consisting of checking body weight, and height, and administering vitamins. After that, the activity continued with an inspection of the foster home environment, such as checking toilets, clean water, , food, and parenting patterns around the foster family’s house. This follow-up activity ended with the provision of necessities to foster families in Tigawasa Village.
GRAHA activities continued on October 28, 2023, and began with the agenda of opening and inaugurating the implementation of GRAHA activities in 2023 in Tigawasa Village. On that date, two activity agendas were carried out at the same time in different places. These activities include the Youth Serving activity in collaboration with the IDI (Indonesian Doctors Association) Buleleng branch. This activity was held from 08.30 to 13.30 WITA at the Tigawasa Village Perbekel Office Arena. Muda Serve activities consist of health service activities, checking blood sugar, uric acid, blood pressure, pulse, and body mass index in the Tigawasa village community. Apart from checking, the Tigawasa community was also invited to carry out the final series of activities from Muda Serve, namely Senam Gembira. The Youth Service activity was attended by several guests, namely the Student Executive Board Supervisor and the Head of the IDI HUT Buleleng Branch, Dr. Komang Hendra Setiawan, S.ked, M. Kes. which also opened the GRAHA (Growing Relationship for Advancing Humanitarian Aid) event. The 2023 GRAHA activity was also attended by the Head of Tigawasa Village, Head of Hamlet in Tigawasa Village, Puskesmas in Tigawasa Village, Posyandu Cadre in Tigawasa, Village Cadre in Tiga Wasa, Chair of KMP Tigawasa Village, Chair of BPD Tigawasa Village, Chair of LPM Tigawasa Village, and the IDI (Indonesian Doctors Association) which helps in implementing health services.
Apart from Muda Serving, there is a second activity, namely Muda Mengajar which is held from 07.30 to 12.55 WITA at SD 1 Tigawasa. Youth teaching activities are carried out at elementary schools in Tigawasa village with the target being elementary school students. In the Teaching Youth activity, there was a Sharing Session activity with elementary school students and the provision of several materials such as “The Role of Students in the Urgency of Nutritional Problems in Elementary Schools”, “Mechanism and Timeline of GRAHA 2023”, and “Nutritional Problems”. Apart from that, during youth teaching activities, health service activities are held which consist of checking Body Mass Index (BMI), blood pressure, blood sugar, and administering vitamins. The last activity is a health practice, namely washing hands together.
Hopefully, the implementation of the 2023 GRAHA (Growing Relationship for Advancing Humanitarian Aid) Faculty of Medicine activities can improve the soft skills of Undiksha Medical Faculty students and bring better changes in the health quality of community nutrition problems in Tigawasa Village as this year’s target village.(Red_FK)
