Singaraja –The departure of FK Undiksha D3 Midwifery Study Program student, Ni Putu Nita Pebriani to the 2022 Teras Student Lab Skills Competition, was not in vain. The competition, which was held on August 20 2022 at the National University of Jakarta, was won with the title of first place. The theme of the competition was Perineal Suturing in Midwifery Care. This Skill Lab competition is divided into two rounds, the first round is suturing the perineum using cow’s tongue as a medium. The second round is a theory test containing material related to midwifery concepts related to perineal suturing.

Perineal suturing is a skill that must be possessed by a midwifery student in order to provide comprehensive normal birth care. In carrying out these competencies, the accuracy of performing skills and the correctness of scores in theory tests are the main assessments. When carrying out lab skills, the mother’s loving care must also be taken into consideration.

In preparation for taking part in the competition, Nita has tried to practice all the time doing perineal suturing skills, guided directly by the supervisor, Mrs. Anjar Tri Astuti, S.ST., M.Keb. From the great efforts that have been made, sweet results have been produced. Nita managed to beat several of her rivals from other universities throughout Indonesia and became champion at the prestigious national event.
