Singaraja –The Ganesha Education University Diploma 3 Midwifery Study Program is holding an OSCE exam for the final program exam which will be held for 2 days from 24-25 August 2023 at 8.30-16.00 WITA. The activity, chaired by Undiksha’s D3 Midwifery Study Program Coordinator, Ni Nyoman Ayu Desy Sekarini, S.ST., M.Keb, was carried out in the OSCE laboratory room at the Faculty of Medicine, Ganesha Education University, starting from 8.30-16.00 WITA.
The OSCE exam, which was attended by 60 sixth-semester students of the Undiksha D3 Midwifery Study Program, was divided into 2 groups. On the first day of the OSCE exam, 24 August 2023, 32 students participated and on the second day, 25 August, 28 students participated, divided into 4 sessions.
The stations used are 8 rooms (6 maneuvering stations and 2 resting stations) with 6 competencies including Physiological Pregnancy Midwifery Care, Physiological Childbirth, Physiological Postpartum, Health Care Family Planning, BBL, and Early Detection of Pregnancy Complications. In realizing quality midwifery education, a quality system is also required, both in terms of input, process, and output. To find out the overall and continuous results of each stage of the learning process, evaluation in the form of exams is very necessary. One of these stages is the OSCE (Objective Structured Clinical Examination) Method Examination.
The exam is intended not only as a measuring tool for students’ mastery, understanding of knowledge, and ability to apply their professional scientific competencies but also as feedback on the education delivery process. The aim of implementing the OSCE is to assess the success and effectiveness of providing education to students of the D3 Midwifery Study Program, Faculty of Medicine, Ganesha Education University in 2023.
The implementation of the OSCE exam for the 2022/2023 Academic Year for the D3 Midwifery Study Program, Faculty of Medicine, Ganesha Education University, which was held on 24-25 August 2023, ran successfully according to the plans that had been made, this was inseparable from the efforts and hard work of the entire OSCE exam organizing committee.
