Singaraja –As an effort to make it happenInternational Reputable University in Education (IRUEL) Ganesha University of Education continues to strive to increase collaborative activities both abroad and domestically, one of which is by establishing collaboration with Weindesheim University. The form of follow-up to this collaboration is to optimize the Tri Darma of Higher Education by carrying out Community Service (PKM) activities with 3 Weindesheim University students as well as students from the Undergraduate Nursing Study Program and Nursing Professional Education Program at Bali Mandara High School on November 30, 2023.
The lecturer who accompanied this activity was Ns. Made Bayu Oka Widiarta S.Kep., M.Kep, and Ns. Ni Kadek Diah Purnamayanti S.Kep., M.Kep. The form of implementation taken is giving activities health education regarding efforts to prevent sexually transmitted infections. This theme was also chosen as part of a series to commemorate World AIDS Day which falls on December 1, 2023.
This activity, which was also attended by 3rd-semester students of the Undergraduate Nursing Study Program, received quite high enthusiasm from Bali Mandar High School class 11 students, where in this service activity fun games were also carried out to stimulate student teamwork, as well as students’ understanding of the dangers of sexually transmitted diseases. Apart from that, in this PKM activity, teenagers are given information on how to prevent sexually transmitted diseases. This service activity received appreciation from the school which was facilitated directly by the Deputy Head of Public Relations at Bali Mandara High School I Gusti Bagus Weda Sanjaya S.Pd.B. In delivering it, it is hoped that the activities will not stop here, but can continue to be carried out on an ongoing basis because the school will also be very helpful in increasing students’ understanding of health, especially the dangers of HIV/AIDS and other sexually transmitted diseases.
Furthermore, this activity will continue to be held by taking different classes, so that it is hoped that teenagers, especially in the surrounding area, can get information and take an active part in preventing the transmission of sexually transmitted diseases.(Red_FK)
