Singaraja –Reported from the Undiksha website “undiksha.ac.id“. The COVID-19 pandemic has not yet passed, society is again faced with the presence of the mysterious acute hepatitis disease. This disease, whose cause is unknown, is reported to have attacked children aged zero to 16 years.
Academician at the Faculty of Medicine, Ganesha Education University (Undiksha) dr. Made Suadnyani Pasek, Sp.A., stated that the public must be aware of this disease. “The exact cause of acute hepatitis is not yet known. “So we have to increase our vigilance,” he said, Wednesday (11/5/2022).
He suggested that if you find children with symptoms of nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, severe abdominal pain, and high fever, and then appear yellow, either in their eyes, face, or skin, they should immediately go to a health service. “So, for example, if you have hepatitis for which the cause is not yet known, you can immediately undergo an examination,” he said.
To prevent the emergence of this disease, people need to adopt a clean and healthy lifestyle for children. Such as washing your hands frequently, not exchanging eating utensils, and diapers must be used once and then thrown away in the right place. Likewise, with food, it must be hygienic. “So food must be clean and then it must be healthy, and don’t use the same cutlery as other people, especially since we don’t know whether the other person is sick or not,” he explained.
He hopes that with a healthy lifestyle, no children, especially in Bali, will contract acute hepatitis. “So far there haven’t been any cases in Bali where I work, but cases have been reported in Indonesia,” he added. (hms)
