Singaraja – Herodicus Medical Scientific Writers of Undiksha (Hermestha) is a Semi-Autonomous Body (BSO) organization that operates in the scientific field at the Faculty of Medicine, Ganesha Education University. Hermestha is celebrating its 3rd anniversary this year, even though it is still relatively young, as a scientific organization, Hermestha has achieved many achievements both nationally and internationally. These achievements have shown Hermestha’s real efforts in making a name for the Faculty of Medicine, Undiksha. In line with Hermestha’s goal, namely to form people who excel in the scientific field, in the context of its anniversary this time, Hermestha is holding a national-level webinar by inviting experts who are experts in their fields.
The webinar held by Hermestha on Saturday, March 4, 2023, carried the theme Science Update on Tropical Disease and Probiotics: Current Disease and Its Therapeutic Challenge. In this theme, the topics that will be discussed are related to diseases that appear in tropical areas along with their therapies. In implementing this webinar, there are three sessions with different topics for each.
In the first material session, the webinar opened with material related to “Recent Update in Parasitology” presented by Dr. Ajib Diptyanusa, DTM&H, MCTM, Sp. Par.K. is a member of the Central Association of the Indonesian Society of Parasitology Specialists. No less interesting, the second topic in this webinar, namely “Policy Guidelines on Improving Researches for HIV and Tuberculosis” presented by Dr. I Wayan Adi Pranata, S. Ked. as Indonesia Research Partnership on Infectious Diseases (INA-RESPOND), Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia. Then the final session in this webinar discusses “The Development of Probiotic Innovation for Health in Indonesia” presented by Prof. Dr. Ir. Endang Sutrisna Rahayu, M.S. Professor of the Department of Food Technology and Agricultural Products, Faculty of Agricultural Technology UGM and Head of the UGM Probiotics Science and Technology Center of Excellence.
Apart from being presented by speakers who are experts in their fields, this webinar is also in collaboration with the Buleleng branch of the Indonesian Doctors Association (IDI). By holding this webinar, it is hoped that FK Undiksha students, especially Hermestha members, will gain insight new, especially in the field of tropical diseases and their therapy with probiotics. Apart from that, it is also hoped that this webinar can provide additional knowledge to FK Undiksha’s external environment regarding related material. (Red_FK)
