Singaraja – Dozens of graduates of the D-3 Midwifery Study Program, Faculty of Medicine, Ganesha Education University (Undiksha) took part in the Taking of the Midwife’s Oath and Pledge, on Wednesday (24/11/2021). Through this, all are required to become midwives who are professional and adaptive to change.
This event took place at the Undiksha Auditorium. The oath-taking ceremony for the 82 graduates who will graduate on November 26 2021 was carried out by the Chairperson of the Regional Management of the Indonesian Midwives Association (IBI) Bali Province, Luh Putu Sukarini, SST., S.E., M.M., M.Kes. On this occasion, Undiksha’s Deputy Chancellor for Academic Affairs and Cooperation, Dr. Gede Rasben Dantes, S.T., M.T.I.
In her speech, Mrs. Luh Putu Sukarini expressed her appreciation to Undiksha for struggling to produce midwifery experts. He hopes that these graduates will be able to provide professional services to the community. Apart from that, you must also adhere to a code of ethics and morals. “I ask these graduates to maintain the philosophy of midwifery and adhere to existing regulations,” she stressed.
It was further stated that entering the era of Industrial Revolution 4.0, the challenges that will be faced are increasingly complex and very susceptible to change. It is hoped that graduates can anticipate this by continuing to develop competencies. “What is studied is not only midwifery. “But also others, including information technology,” she added.
In particular, he invited prospective midwives to continue fighting to deal with maternal and child health issues, especially in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic. Apart from that, he is always present in providing education to the community, especially regarding the Family Planning program.
In this activity, Deputy Chancellor I, Mr. Gede Rasben Dantes also said, “In order to face increasingly fierce competition, graduates need to continue to develop their competencies. More than that, you also have to have skills in critical thinking, collaboration, communication, character, compassion, and computational thinking. The current era is rapidly changing and also full of ambiguity. “Therefore, I invite you to continue to improve your competence,” she said.
